A brazen theft of five cable drums was reported in Bad Dürkheim between October 22nd and 23rd, 2025. The perpetrators overcame a fence at the RNV depot on Mannheimer Straße and stole the valuable items, which caused total damage of around 35,000 euros Picture reported.
The Bad Dürkheim police have already started an investigation and are asking the public for help. One of the cable drums was found unrolled in Triftweg, while a second drum, which remained untouched, was rolled down a slope and left behind a fence. However, four cable drums remain missing.
The police and their tasks
The Bad Dürkheim police station, responsible for around 44,000 citizens in the city and surrounding areas, is doing everything it can to bring the perpetrators to account. The inspectorate is well positioned in a service area of around 206 square kilometers and is always open to the concerns of local residents. In this context, it is important for citizens to be vigilant and report suspicious activity. Even though the clearance rate for thefts in 2024 was 31.4%, every tip is valuable. Crime in the region can only be effectively combated through close cooperation between the police and the public.
