Rhein-Nahe sports club triumphs at the kickboxing competition in Bad Dürkheim!

A breath of fresh air is blowing in martial arts! The Rhein-Nahe e.V. sports club presented itself impressively at the WMAC Newcomer Santa Cup in Bad Dürkheim. On December 23, 2025, the club competed with 19 fighters and had a huge impact. Among the almost 600 athletes from 56 participating clubs, the club was not only strong in terms of fighting, but also extremely successful.

In total, the sports club's fighters were able to win 9 gold, 4 silver and 7 bronze medals. This puts the club in 4th place in the team rankings, which is a great achievement for the newcomers. For many of the participants it was their first or second tournament, which makes their achievements all the more remarkable. The trainers Dirk Pekrul and Caner Demir were in their element and supported the fighters with great commitment.

Well organized and fair decisions

The event was impeccably organized, the schedule was adhered to and the judges' decisions were fair. A clear structure enables the athletes to give their best, which for many is their first competitive experience in kickboxing. The pairings and matches are available online so that interested fans can follow the performances of their favorites.

The club has not only made a name for itself in Bad Dürkheim. The Santa Cup Newcomer kickboxing tournament took place last year, where the sports club also had a strong performance. Back then, twelve athletes took part and achieved several placings - there was a lot to celebrate there too. Leonie Braun and Lennart Graffe, for example, took first place in their classes, while other newcomers such as Louana Blau and Maximilian Berg also finished strongly.

Martial arts in transition

Martial arts is experiencing an exciting change in Germany. The sport now has more than 670,000 members in various associations, although the number of active martial artists has fallen compared to ten years ago. Nevertheless, there are positive developments: Associations such as the German Boxing Association are recording an increase in members. Martial arts, which have produced many legends such as Bruce Lee and the Klitschko brothers, remain an integral part of the German sports landscape and are a role model for many young athletes.

With its recent successes, the Rhein-Nahe e.V. sports club has proven that it has the potential and team spirit to be very popular in martial arts. The dedicated coaches and motivated athletes of all ages show that the club has a good hand when it comes to promoting new talent and giving them the opportunity to prove themselves.

We can only keep our fingers crossed for the future and look forward to seeing how developments at Sportclub Rhein-Nahe e.V. continue to unfold. Who knows which stars of tomorrow might be on the mat next week!
