Bad Kreuznach cycles record: 176,528 kilometers despite rain and wind!

This year's city cycling in Bad Kreuznach is truly impressive! Between August 30 and September 19, 2025, participants will have incredible176,528 kilometerstraveled on their bicycles. Mayor Emanuel Letz had the honor of honoring the hard-working cyclists and recognizing their impressive achievements.

Despite the adverse weather conditions that accompanied the event in the form of rain and wind, the cyclists showed their endurance. Alex Groehl, who was named “kilometer eater” because he was proud, received particular attention2,504 kilometersput back.

Strong team performance

A look at the teams shows that team spirit is very important in Bad Kreuznach. The “Moments instead of Segments” team with 20 participants cycled24,350 kilometersand thus secured first place in the category of absolute kilometers and most cycling performance. Renowned teams such as the Michelin team with 30 cyclists took third place, while the LiHi team took home the silver medal.

One can be particularly proud of the individual achievements: eight of the athletic cyclists are among the top ten best individual achievements. Two students from the Röka team also managed to join the ranks of the best cyclists and took respectable places.

With a clear goal in mind

City cycling is not just a competition, but also an opportunity to promote climate protection and cover everyday journeys in an environmentally friendly way. The initiative not only attracts cycling teams, but also shows that many small teams can demonstrate with commitment that longer distances to work can be easily covered by bicycle.

The ADFC's offerings formed the framework for the exceptional services. Among other things, guided tours to Rheinhessen were organized, which motivated participants to increase their own kilometers and at the same time discover the beautiful surrounding area.

Look beyond borders

The success of city cycling in Bad Kreuznach is a small part of a larger whole. The campaign is also enjoying increasing popularity nationwide.
