Elmar Schauß: New President of the Kirn Lions Club takes responsibility!
A new wind for the Lions: Elmar Schauß is the newly elected president of the Lions Club Kirn Mittlere Nahe. The wine-growing engineer from Monzingen succeeded Rolf Arzt and thus took over responsibility during a ceremonial handover in the “Castle In” club on the Kirner Kyrburg. Under the motto “We serve – we serve and help people who can use support,” Schauß will continue the association’s work together with his committed team.
The Lions Club team consists of other active members: Gerhard Held as membership representative, Carsten Glaser in the role of vice president, Rainer Molter as activities representative, Jörg Nikodemus as WEB master, Felix Fey as secretary and Rolf Arzt, who continues to provide advice as past president, support Schauß in his new role. This combination promises a varied and effective term in office.
Community action with great success
The events that have already taken place include the Lions Club's Christmas raffle, the winners of which were drawn at the Kyrburg. This year a total of 5,000 tickets were sold at a price of 5 euros each, with a remarkable response. Particular demand came from companies, among others, who gave tickets to their employees, which underlines the high willingness to win and the community commitment. Weekly Mirror reports that the lots were sold out and there were no remaining stocks.
The lucky fairy of the event was none other than the Nahe wine queen Sophie Semus from Bosenheim. The prizes included a Toyota Aygo as the main prize as well as six months of use of a VW ID3 and a City Twister electric scooter, to name just a few. Thanks to the willingness to donate from two companies, each of which contributed 1,000 euros, the Lions Club was able to collect a total of 27,000 euros for reconstruction in the Ahr Valley. This amount will be handed over personally to the new district administrator in the Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler district in order to further support the willingness to help in the region.
The Lions Clubs traditionally stand for social projects and support for people in need. The voluntary work of the Kirn Mittlere Nahe club, even during the Corona period, is commendable. The pandemic made it difficult for members to hold events, but they still found ways to stay active and do good together.
It remains to be seen how the Lions will develop in the future under the leadership of Elmar Schauß. They have made it their mission to play a pioneering role in helping and supporting their fellow human beings. Rhein-Zeitung reports that the Lions Club will embark on the next project with renewed vigor - community engagement will therefore continue to be a top priority.
