A nighttime operation by the fire department prevented something worse from happening in Bosenheim. On Tuesday, October 28th, around midnight, a fire broke out on the first floor of an uninhabited apartment building on Rheingaustraße. Passers-by noticed the smoke and immediately alerted the fire department, who were quickly on the scene to fight the fire and prevent it from getting worse.
When the emergency services arrived, they immediately noticed that insulation material between the first and second floors was on fire. To contain the fire, the fire brigade deployed a team wearing respiratory protection who used a ladder to reach the balcony on the first floor. This team carried out targeted firefighting measures using a C-pipe.

But that wasn't enough: additional firefighters were deployed with a tear hook to remove burning parts of the facade and expose embers. What was particularly commendable was the quick deployment of a third team, which got into position with the turntable ladder. This enabled them to illuminate the building from the outside and initiate additional extinguishing measures.
The rapid action of the fire brigade prevented the fire from spreading to the entire building. However, one firefighter suffered a minor injury to his finger and had to be taken to hospital for treatment. The entire operation lasted about two hours.
