Choose your hometown hero 2025: Vote now and win!

What is happening in the region? On September 12, 2025, the countdown for the “Home Heroes 2025” is in full swing. Citizens in Bad Kreuznach can cast their votes until Sunday, September 14th. The vote was created to honor people who work tirelessly for the community and have a knack for social projects. An event that goes far beyond a simple vote, it is an opportunity to strengthen local identity and social cohesion.

The “Heimathelden 2025” campaign is organized by Sparkasse Rhein-Nahe and Antenne Bad Kreuznach and aims to honor volunteer work and special merits. In a first round, an independent jury selected the ten most committed candidates from all nominations. This jury is made up of representatives of local clubs, media and the Sparkasse and evaluates the nominations based on commitment, positive impact on the community and regional relevance. Each nominator must be a local association and propose their candidates with an email and a photo, so that the best proposals have been collected in the nomination phase from July 1 to August 17, 2025.

Public voting and award ceremony

In the current voting phase, citizens can vote for the top 10 candidates on Sparkasse Rhein-Nahe's social media. The three local heroes with the most votes have the chance to be honored at the ceremonial awards ceremony on September 18th at the Kornmarkt in Bad Kreuznach. This ceremony coincides with the club's after-work market and the opening of the newly renovated Sparkasse Advisory Center. A fitting setting to celebrate the commitment of those honored.

The top three winners can look forward to monetary donations that can be used for charitable projects of their choice: 1,000 euros for first place, 500 euros for second place and 150 euros for third place. This support is not only an incentive, but also important support for local initiatives that enrich community life.

Commitment beyond the region

The example of the local heroes shows once again how important commitment and volunteerism are in our society. The recognition of such initiatives on larger stages is all the more important. A suitable example is the German Commitment Prize, which regularly honors outstanding voluntary achievements. Prominent laudators such as Lisa Paus and Prof. Dr. Maja Göpel speaks a word for all those who work for the common good and whose stories are made visible.

In times when social cohesion is required, the commitment of individual hometown heroes is particularly valuable. In Bad Kreuznach, not only is voluntary commitment recognized, but a platform is also created that promotes togetherness in the region. Further information about voting and the hometown heroes can be found directly below Antenna KH and German Foundation for Commitment and Volunteering.

Be there and give the people who stand up for your community the recognition they deserve!
