Jens Münster elected CDU chairman in Cochem-Zell with 96%!
In an exciting district party conference of the CDU Cochem-Zell, Jens Münster was re-elected chairman with an impressive 96 percent of the votes. The meeting took place in Auderath and not only offered insights into the party's future plans, but was also a platform for discussing important issues in the region. Münster emphasized the great potential of the picturesque Moselle, Eifel and Hunsrück and highlighted the strengthening of rural areas as a central concern. After all, the issues of security, education and municipal finances are at the top of the CDU’s agenda.
The election also brought with it a new leadership team: Alfred Steimers, Thomas Welter and Roberta Kastor were appointed deputy district chairmen. Bettina Salzmann remains in office as district treasurer, while Daniel Schawo was confirmed as member representative. In addition, Johannes Pötz was recruited as the new secretary and Karin Kneip as digital representative. The extended district board is supported by assessors Jennifer Bober, Peter Cronauer and many other members, such as Sandra Hendges-Steffens and Dirk Kaiser.
Insights into the future of the region
A special item on the program was the lecture by Colonel Samuel Mbassa, who provided information about the upcoming construction work at Büchel Air Base. He explained the goals and tasks of the location and took questions from the audience, which was rewarded with much applause from the listeners. The exchange with citizens shows how important a transparent dialogue is for the future development of the region.
The challenges for local citizens are great: the economic situation is tense and concerns about high energy prices, bureaucracy and a lack of skilled workers are growing. Voices from the population are calling for a policy change to create prosperity for all. To this end, measures should be initiated that focus, among other things, on modernizing labor law and reducing the burden on income taxes. The CDU has set clear goals here to strengthen Germany's competitiveness and increase economic resilience, which forms the basis for sustainable development in the region.
In addition, the CDU has long-term strategies in mind to secure pension provision, with a focus on support and demands in the area of pensions. Another concern is the abolition of wealth taxes and the increase of inheritance tax allowances in order to offer citizens a good economic foundation.
All of these points underline the CDU's intention to actively promote sustainable development in rural regions. With their commitment, Jens Münster and his team show that they have a good knack for tackling the challenges of the future and getting the best out of Cochem-Zell.
