Pure enjoyment: These restaurants in RLP shine with Michelin stars!
The Michelin Guide has once again given its OK and awarded stars to the best restaurants in Germany - and that makes gourmet hearts beat faster in Rhineland-Palatinate. With a total of 29 restaurants that received a star in 2024, the region has proven that it can not only keep up in the culinary landscape, but also has one or two highlights to offer. There are now two restaurants with the highest award of three stars: this schanz.restaurant in Piesport and that Waldhotel Sonnora in threes.
But it wasn't just the front runners who caused a stir: two different restaurants were able to enjoy receiving two stars this year, namely this Gotthardt's by Yannick Noack in Koblenz and that Intense in Wachenheim on the Weinstrasse. Already excellent star holders likeL.A. Jordanin Deidesheim andSteinheuer's Restaurant at the Alte Postin Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler they were able to successfully defend their stars.
The new star candidates
Things got particularly exciting with the newly awarded one-star restaurants. Several names have appeared here who want to enrich the culinary scene. These include thisPurse New Nordic Japanese Cuisinein Andernach as well as thatiroriin Knittelsheim, which was recently converted from Neustadt/W. has moved. That tooYOSOin Andernach and theBlack roosterin Deidesheim are new to the list, so the selection of first-class restaurants in Rhineland-Palatinate has continued to grow.
While some culinary professionals were able to win new stars, there were changes for others: a two-star restaurant lost its star, and three restaurants had to give up their one-star award. TheIntensein Kallstadt has unfortunately closed its doors since boss Benjamin Peifer is planning to move to Wachenheim.
Sustainability in focus
Michelin not only pays attention to the cuisine itself, but also has an eye on sustainable efforts. In the catering industry, more and more emphasis is being placed on environmental awareness, which is absolutely trendy.
