Last weekend a festive event took place in Rheinzabern that captivated both the locals and many guests. The association music festival, organized by the “Lyra” music association as part of its 100th birthday, showed its best side. The first three days of the festival were a complete success the Rhine Palatinate reported.

The opening evening began with an event for young people. The band “The Fat Children” created an exuberant atmosphere in the festival tent on the market square, which was filled to capacity. The visitors were in a good mood, which also benefited the following days.

A variety of activities for young and old

On Saturday there was a youth action lunch on the program, which attracted many enthusiastic young people. Sunday brought a very special highlight - a classic car meeting in which over 160 different vehicles, including tractors, motorcycles and cars, took part. The guests enjoyed these nostalgic treasures and the music that the music club offered together with guest bands.

How the Rheinzabern Music Association announced that some restrictions and closures had to be expected during the festival. Bahnhofstrasse and parts of Nine Mornings were closed from Friday evening to Sunday lunchtime to ensure that things ran smoothly. However, residents were still able to access their driveways.

Praise for the implementation and commitment

On Monday, the festival ended with a final event, which also marked the official conclusion of the city cycling campaign in the Germersheim district. A big tattoo at 10 p.m. was the highlight of these festive days. For the organizers it was not only a financial but also a cultural success experience that underlines the importance of such events.

A nationwide study on which the music initiative points out, will shed light on the relevance of music festivals in Germany. The results of the survey, which runs from November 2024 to November 2025, will be published in summer 2025. These initiatives show how important music festivals are for the cultural landscape, creating social interactions and promoting regional identity.

These festive days have shown once again that music connects people and separates the wheat from the chaff. The music club “Lyra” Rheinzabern is a living part of this culture, combining both tradition and modernity.
