Autumn magic in RLP: Mild weather and stormy gusts await us!
The mild autumn weather will appear in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland in the coming days. The rain will remain a constant companion in the near future, even if precipitation is expected to be rare around the middle of the week. Windy conditions are forecast on Tuesday with temperatures up to 15 degrees and lots of clouds as well as occasional rain.
On Wednesday, however, things will be a little more relaxed. Light to moderate winds will bring occasional rain and temperatures will climb to a maximum of 16 degrees. On Thursday the weather will clear up and the rain will also become less frequent. It will remain mostly dry on Friday night, although some local fog is expected.
Storm “Joshua” is moving through the region
Despite the mild temperatures, a storm called “Joshua” is causing problems in the region. According to the Rhine newspaper There was a lot of storm damage, including fallen trees, which caused traffic disruptions in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. The fire department had to intervene in Bad Kreuznach when a train collided with fallen trees. Fortunately, the approximately 290 passengers were mostly spared, but the front of the train was damaged and two people had to go to hospital.
The weather situation is described as changeable and windy, with gusts of up to 80 km/h expected on Friday. On Friday itself, temperatures between 9 and 13 degrees are expected, although at higher altitudes it will only be a maximum of 7 degrees. The evening will bring a calming of the wind, although strong gusts can still occur at high altitudes.
Expected development of the weather situation
According to the current forecasts of DWD the weather will continue to be changeable. Thursday will be mostly cloudy, with only rare rain and generally milder temperatures. These range between 12 and 16 degrees. Things are also looking cloudy for the coming weekend: Saturday will bring repeated showers, while Sunday will bring rain in some areas and temperatures between 10 and 13 degrees.
So the quiet, milder days are on the way, but the sun remains hidden in many places. The challenges of fall weather are a constant side effect for the region, presenting many challenges.
