Music for the little ones: crawling concerts in Kaiserslautern!

October is just around the corner and brings a colorful bouquet of cultural offerings for young and old to Kaiserslautern. Musical highlights and encounters form the framework for a cultural month that offers exciting events. The crawling concerts, which will take place on October 10, 2025 in the Fruchthalle, will attract particular attention. Babies and toddlers aged 0 to 3 are the stars of the show, and clapping, kicking or even squealing are expressly encouraged.

Andrea Apostoli, an experienced music educator, will conduct these special concerts. The program includes works by well-known composers such as Debussy, Handel, Schumann, Schubert and Brahms. The musicians from the German State Philharmonic of Rhineland-Palatinate move around the room to surround the little ones with enchanting sounds. This concept ensures that the children can move freely during the concert. Parents should bring a seat pad, such as a sports mat. Tickets can be purchased at the tourist information center and are free for children up to three years old. [/a] reports that the family tickets, which are valid for two adults and two children, are only available at the box office.

A happy musical journey

There is great interest in the crawling concerts. Families, such as baby Cleo's, are already traveling from the Homburg area to take part in this musical experience. The event not only offers the opportunity to give the little ones their first music school experience, but also promotes their auditory development. Apostoli knows from experience that the first three years of life are crucial for the development of musical intelligence.

The positive feedback from parents shows that the children react enthusiastically to the music. The concerts create a relaxing atmosphere in which the shared experience is particularly enjoyable. Apostoli receives support not only from the German State Philharmonic, but also from the Mannheim Theater and the Mannheim Drum Palace, which makes the event even more promising.

More musical highlights in October

But the crawling concerts are just the start of a rich cultural program. For example, a symphony concert entitled “Resistance” will take place on October 17, 2025. Tchaikovsky's Cello Concerto with soloist Nadège Rochat will be performed here under the direction of Sylvain Cambreling. At the same time, music lovers can look forward to a chamber concert with a reading by Katja Riemann on October 23rd and a musical-literary soirée on October 24th. This soirée brings together various artists including Kirsti Alho and Kaori Nomura.

An interactive sound project, which will take place on October 25th, offers visitors the opportunity to create a live sound cluster. And don't forget the “jazz stage meets musical” on October 31st, where the combination of jazzy sounds and musical elements can be experienced. Tickets for all of these events are available both online and at various ticket offices. And best of all: the tickets entitle you to use public transport on the day of the event until 3 a.m. the following day.
