The list of the 500 richest Germans in 2025 was published in the latest issue of “Manager Magazine”, and some entrepreneurs from the Koblenz region are prominently represented in it. This shows once again how dynamic and successful the economic landscape is in this area. The Wirtgen family, which comes from Windhagen, tops the regional list and has an estimated fortune of 4 billion euros. This puts them in 59th place nationally.
Another notable name is Ralph Dommermuth from United Internet, who comes from Montabaur. With assets of 3.2 billion euros, he has made a significant leap forward this year and is in 83rd place - an increase of 900 million euros compared to the previous year. Such numbers are impressive and show that the Internet economy continues to thrive.

There are also other entrepreneurs from the region on the list: The Udo Schütz family from Selters has 2.3 billion euros and comes in 112th place. The brothers Alexander and Christian Birkenstock from Neustadt an der Wied follow in 101st place with assets of 2.5 billion euros.
The Frank Gotthardt family from Koblenz, known for Compugroup Medical, has secured a place in 303rd place with 800 million euros. The region's industry diversity is also evident: the Horn and Litke families from the cable support system manufacturer Niedax from Linz am Rhein are listed in 436th place with 500 million euros. This makes it clear that not only one industry dominates in the region, but that numerous successful entrepreneurs emerge from different sectors.

At the national level, Dieter Schwarz, the founder of Lidl, leads the ranking with an enormous fortune of 46.5 billion euros. They are followed by the BMW heirs Susanne Klatten and Stefan Quandt with 36.1 billion euros and the Albrecht and Heister families from Aldi Süd with 27.7 billion euros. These personalities show that good business in Germany means not only tradition, but also innovation.

In 2024, the number of billionaires in Germany was estimated at 249, which is the largest number ever recorded in this country. This development underlines the increasing economic dynamism in Germany, which also raises high expectations in the future.
