Pre-Christmas craft market in Oberalben: A celebration of creativity!
On November 7th, 2025, the pre-Christmas craft market will take place in the Emigration Museum in Oberalben. For the 22nd time, the support association is organizing this popular event, which attracts craft enthusiasts and gift seekers alike. The exhibition runs on Friday and Saturday, with the opening times being the same: both days from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Organizer Sabrina Werner can proudly report on numerous long-standing exhibitors who are presenting their creative works again this year. Among the exhibitors are Karin Fleming from Patersbach, who shows colorful quilts, as well as Nadine Mack from Rammelsbach and Caroline Frank from Kirrweiler, who embroider aprons and tea towels with great skill.
Creative diversity and craftsmanship
Visitors can look forward to a colorful range of products. Ruth Weingarth from Blaubach offers all sorts of decorative items made from casting compound, including cans, angels and tree decorations. But Silvia Böser from Kusel also has a knack for creative gifts with her mini clothing items for dolls and handmade soaps. In addition, several exhibitors sell self-knitted socks, which are very popular in the cold season.
Another highlight are the paper works by Reinhilt Kaufmann from Oberalben, which presents Advent and Christmas decorations as well as nativity figures and mobiles. Christa Koch from Wahnwegen also impressed visitors with a demonstration on the spinning wheel, while she brought home-dyed wool, woven scarves and knitted items. Not to be forgotten are the turned woodwork by Erwin Drumm from Ulmet and the Christmas floristry by Heike Bollenbacher from Nerzweiler, which perfectly rounds off the pre-Christmas atmosphere.
Delicacies and culinary delights
Your physical well-being is also taken care of. In addition to coffee and cake, “Auswandererknepp” with sauerkraut and bacon sauce is offered - a treat that many don't want to miss. Admission to the craft market is just one euro, which makes the event affordable for families and groups.
The event is not only an opportunity to browse and buy, but also a social event that brings people together and sparks anticipation for the upcoming holidays. We invite all Cologne residents to stop by on November 9th and 10th and be inspired by the diversity of craftsmanship.
