Something is happening in the area of parking space management in Ludwigshafen. New parking ticket machines will be installed on several streets in the southern district by the end of June. Like that Weekly newspaper reporter reported, this measure aims to reduce parking pressure in residential areas and encourage fewer non-residents to park. Through targeted adjustments to traffic signs, through traffic in residential areas should also be reduced.
The city's new parking space concept ensures that residents near the city center can find a parking space more quickly. Residents of zones 12 III and 12 IV receive the right to park on selected streets with a parking permit. For non-residents, however, there will now be a limit of a maximum of two hours, which can only be used with a parking ticket.
Affected roads and implementation
The following streets are affected by this regulation: Emil-Nolde-Straße, Max-Pechstein-Straße, August-Macke-Straße and many others. The machines and signs will initially be covered and should be put into operation at the same time as the final implementation. Residents who do not yet have a valid parking permit can apply for one from the Road Traffic Department. Importantly, residents can also purchase visitor day passes for their guests, which makes access to parking even easier.
