Summer festival Culture in the Grove” inspires despite the showers: a complete success!
On June 29, 2025, the popular summer festival “Culture in the Grove” organized by the Forum Rheingönheim association was once again celebrated in Rheingönheim. The event started promptly at 3 p.m. After a short rain shower, which only lasted about ten minutes, the sun returned and ensured pleasant weather that remained stable throughout the evening. In contrast to last year, when a heavy downpour interrupted the celebrations at 6 p.m., this time the visitors enjoyed ideal conditions.
There was a lot on offer, especially for the little guests. They were able to play and do crafts in the tents of the three kindergartens, while climbing boxes gave them a touch of thrill. Another highlight was the hip-hop dance show presented by the young talents from the Rheingönheim youth center. This variety of activities ensured smiling faces and an exuberant atmosphere in the park.
Musical diversity and happy togetherness
Musical entertainment also played a central role in this festival. The rock band Thrown Together from the Ludwigshafen Music School got off to a strong start with their sounds. This was followed by rousing hip-hop performances by the young people from the youth center. The Rheingönheim band Die Igels provided more catchy tunes with their rock and pop classics, before the party band Flow Control from Neuhofen brought the evening to life from 8 p.m. The atmosphere was peaceful throughout, the place was full and the visitors were very satisfied with what was on offer.
However, organizing the festival was a major effort. Susanne Frank, one of the organizers, was extremely positive about the process. With a dedicated team of around 150 helpers from various clubs in the Rheingönheim Forum, the volunteers put in around 1,500 hours of work to make the festival a success. “Without the volunteer commitment, such a great event would not be possible,” she emphasized. The volunteers' support ranged from planning to guest relations and security. The increased requirements for organizers were implemented by a security service for the first time this year, which helped to reassure the guests.
A look into the future
The Rheingönheim Forum, an association of parishes, support associations, kindergartens and youth centers, is already planning the next big event: the Christmas market in Rheingönheim. A surprise was also announced for the 20th edition of “Kultur im Hain”, which visitors can already look forward to.
In conclusion, events like “Culture in the Grove” not only strengthen the community, but also make a significant contribution to the cultural life in the region. Volunteering, as practiced at this event, is invaluable. Further information can be found on the forum website.
How important voluntary work is in event organization has been shown once again. It makes it possible to realize even large events in the spirit of the community and give each individual a sense of home. This source explains why volunteering is so important.
For everyone who missed this day, hope remains for the next edition of “Kultur im Hain”. Who knows what surprises the organizers still have in store? The Rheinpfalz always reports on the latest developments.
