This year the focus is on Ede Eber-Huber, known from many musical projects. With his 12-string Takamine Western guitar, he will delight visitors with a colorful repertoire of 111 rock and folk songs, presented in English, German and Palatinate. These songs are included in the newly printed songbook that will be available during the concert. The special feature: The audience can actively select songs, which makes each concert individual and unique.
A look at Ede Eber-Huber
Ede Eber-Huber is a fixture in the region's music scene. Since 1968 he has been teaching guitar and singing to the stage. His career began in the 70s with various rock and folk projects in Neustadt, followed by his time as a street musician in Heidelberg with the group “Bundschuh”. His theology studies in Tübingen led him to engagements such as “Connies Gassenkapelle”. He was later one of the founders of the anarcho rock band “Lokal Pack” and played a leading role in the cult musical “Rock un`Riesling”. Since 2022 he has also been active as a classic rock band with “Haardt of Gold”, and since 2016 he has been part of the “Uffbasse Palzbänd”, which performs rock music in Palatinate and other languages. He is also known in the region for his numerous cultural activities and helped shape the Konfetti organic and cultural inn for over 17 years.
Cultural significance of the event
The participatory concert is not just a musical event, but an important part of cultural life in Neustadt. With their collaboration, Eber-Huber and the Wespennest cultural association have provided valuable impetus for the local music scene. The idea of creating a “choir of the untrained” where everyone who enjoys singing is welcome raises the community spirit and invites people to express themselves musically, regardless of experience.
There is also a suitable room for the concert: the Konfetti Wirtshaus is known for its cozy atmosphere, which contributes to a modern ambience thanks to acoustic panels. These panels are known to provide noise reduction and improve the quality of living. Here, musicians and listeners alike can enjoy themselves undisturbed, which particularly highlights the diversity of the music.
