Generous food donation: Lions Club supports Tafel Neuwied!

What a lovely gesture! The Neuwied-Andernach Lions Club recently turned to Tafel Neuwied with a generous donation of food. President Jürgen Ulrich and Wolfgang Sulzbacher presented a selection of long-life foods that will help enrich the table's daily offerings. These include rice, pasta, canned vegetables and soups, eggs, cheese, sausage, butter and chicken legs. The total value of this donation amounts to over 1000 euros, ordered from the Edeka market in Kreuzberg.

Those responsible for the table, Markus Oehlschläger and Elisabeth Adrian, were visibly grateful for this valuable support. “With donations like this we can offer our clients a wider choice,” they explained at the handover. On average, the Tafel supplies numerous people in need with food and the Lions Club's campaign makes a significant contribution to ensuring that no one goes hungry.

The Lions Club and its mission

Lions International is known as one of the largest charitable service organizations in the world, with approximately 1.3 million members in over 200 countries. Here in Germany there are around 46,000 members active in almost 1,400 clubs who work tirelessly for social and cultural projects. The Lions Club Neuwied-Andernach has existed for over 50 years and has always been committed to tolerance and supporting people in material and emotional need. Their motto, “We serve,” expresses their commitment to world peace and the preservation of cultural assets.

But that's not all: In recent years, the Neuwied-Andernach Lions Club has collected over 125,000 euros to support children and youth projects in the region. The initiatives initiated include the wishing tree, the provision of equipment for the state school for the blind and musical instruments for speech-impaired children. The club not only works locally, but also contributes to international understanding and education in developing countries.

Donations and support

Of course, any help is welcome! The Lions Club Neuwied-Andernach welcomes direct donations that can be transferred to the Lions Hilfe e.V. account. Tax-deductible donation receipts can also be issued, and the money flows into non-profit and charitable projects that are registered with the Montabaur District Court. The aid organization is recognized as a non-profit organization by the Neuwied tax office.
