News from Borussia Neunkirchen: Start of training with new additions!
On June 24, 2025, football fans are looking forward to great anticipation as many teams begin their training preparations. Borussia Neunkirchen starts the new season on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Ellenfeld Stadium. Coach Jan Berger and his colleague Jörg Backes will lead the first session, which begins with a meeting and the introduction of the new recruits. Fresh faces join the team with Leon Bayer from FV Eppelborn, Norman Schmitt from SV Kirkel and Jan Eichmann from FC Rastfuhl. Returnees like Kevin Collofong (Preußen Merchweiler) and Kristof Scherpf (FK Pirmasens) also promise new life in the team.
A total of 15 practice sessions are planned until the start of the season. There are also some preparatory games on the program. A special highlight will be the blitz tournament on June 27th, in which Borussia will play against FC Kutzhof and on June 29th against SV Holz. The fans can also expect an exciting match against FC Hellas in Marpingen on July 4th.
Versatile preparation program
But the competition doesn't stop there. Participation in the city championships from June 27th to July 6th is also planned, where the opponents are SVGG Hangard and SSV Wellesweiler. A duel against FK Pirmasens is scheduled for July 9th, and the blitz tournament in Wiesbach on July 17th promises additional excitement as Borussia face Preußen Merchweiler and another opponent. And don't forget: The anniversary game "120 Years of Borussia" against 1. FC Saarbrücken will take place on July 19th, followed by the official season opening game on July 25th against the second team of 1. FC Saarbrücken.
Interestingly, the big clubs in Germany are also in the middle of preparations. Borussia Mönchengladbach is optimistic about the new season after the last one did not live up to expectations. Head coach Gerardo Seoane and sports director Roland Virkus will remain in their positions, and summer preparation will begin on July 4th and 5th with medical examinations. The first training session with the ball will start on July 6th.
This year's training camp takes place in picturesque Rottach-Egern on Lake Tegernsee. The team will train under ideal conditions from July 19th to 25th. Four test matches are also planned, including against 1. FC Nürnberg and FC Valencia – a real treat for the fans. The DFB Cup and the start of the Bundesliga have already come into focus, and the anticipation for August 22nd to 24th, when it finally starts, is palpable.
Systematic preparation for everyone
Across Germany, preparations for the coronavirus pandemic are in full swing again. Most states allow outdoor contact sports with up to 30 people, which allows teams to have an intensive training experience. In the first few weeks, training takes place three times a week in order to prepare the players as best as possible for the challenges of the new season. The training program is detailed and includes various focuses, such as endurance, speed and strategic play.
- Woche 1: Grundlagen der Ausdauer
- Woche 2: Fußballspezifische Ausdauer
- Woche 3: Schnelligkeit und Koordination
- Woche 4: Spieltechnik im Ballbesitz
- Woche 5: Defensives Mannschaftsspiel
- Woche 6: Teamübergreifendes Pressing
The coming weeks promise not only exciting games, but also intensive training sessions in the football country of Germany. A clear sign that the passion for the sport is in full swing.
