Proceeds from the duck race: Seven projects are fighting for donations!

The anticipation for this year's Old Town Festival in Speyer could hardly be greater! On October 28, 2025, Stadtwerke Speyer (SWS) launched an exciting campaign that is sure to bring a lot of smiles and a lot of support. The proceeds from the traditional duck race will now be distributed among the city's best ideas and projects. The “Speyer Crowd” platform provides the framework for this initiative, and all of Speyer is invited to take part.

Seven clubs submitted their funding projects for this great campaign, which are competing for a share of the total proceeds of 15,850 euros. The SWS has already provided 3,750 euros from its own funding pot to support the collection. But that's not all: every donated contribution of 10 euros or more is rewarded by the municipal utilities with an additional 15 euros. This is a great offer that should encourage everyone to take part!

Clubs in the spotlight

Among the applicants are the cathedral parish Pax Christi, which wants awnings and parasols for children, and the children's and youth theater support association, which is aiming for uniform T-shirts for the young actors. The Woogbachschule also wants to create a hands-on garden, while the Speyer Carnival Society is keeping an eye on the equipment for its three dance groups.

The Kita Kastanienburg is planning to improve its outdoor area, while the tourist association wants to help finance the Jewish music festival “Chai”. Last but not least, the St. Gangolf choir community from Dudenhofen would like to support their project choir. So there is something for everyone, and it remains exciting to see which project ultimately gets the largest share of the proceeds.

Enter until November 24th

Participation in this wonderful campaign is possible until November 24th and anyone interested can register at www.speyer-crowd.de inform and take action directly. Anyone who donates will also receive small surprises as a thank you! So if you are still looking for a way to support your city and do good, you should definitely stop by here.

If you think about the current trend in the economy, it is important to invest locally here too. There is great interest in the market in the topics of artificial intelligence and new technologies. Companies like Qualcomm and AMD are entering the market with their new chips and are joining the ranks of the big players who shine with innovative products. Qualcomm recently introduced its AI200 and AI250 chips in order not to be left behind in the race for the best AI accelerators.

AMD, meanwhile, has launched a promising partnership with its collaboration with OpenAI that has helped propel shares to record highs. These developments show how important it is that local projects and initiatives also receive the funding they need to survive in a technologically advanced world.

Be there and support the good ideas from Speyer! The city is looking forward to lively participation and a lot of excited children's eyes during the Old Town Festival.
