Huge housing projects in Frankenthal: dismantling completed by August!

In Frankenthal, a lot is happening on the site of the former school bag manufacturer Sternjakob. A lot of work is currently being done there to create space for new living spaces. Deutsche Bauwert AG (DBA) has initiated the “Strandbad Quartier” project, and almost 350 new apartments will be built on an area of around 2.8 hectares.

In the first part of the construction project, six modern apartment buildings with a total of 153 apartments will be built. These are designed in sizes of two to three rooms and offer living space between 46 and 76 square meters - ideal for singles, couples and families. The dismantling work on the old factory buildings is currently being carried out by the Spira company from Bad Kreuznach and, according to the DBA, is “well on schedule”. This work should be completed by around mid-August.

Sustainable living in focus

A clear focus of the new project is on sustainability. The 19 planned modern apartment buildings are intended to meet the KfW Efficiency House 40 standard. This corresponds to a high level of energy efficiency, which guarantees residents not only environmentally friendly but also cost-effective living. The development work for the project will begin in the third quarter of 2025, while the entire construction work and the start of sales are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025.

The Frankenthal city council decided last December to suspend the quota for socially subsidized housing for two years. This is intended to trigger a construction boom and relieve pressure on the housing market, which is urgently needed given the increasing demand for housing in the region. Mayor Dr. During the project presentation, Nicolas Meyer emphasized the high demand for the upcoming apartments from different segments of the population.

Investments and parking facilities

In addition to the residential complexes, numerous parking spaces will also be created - a total of 440 parking spaces, which are divided into 192 parking spaces and 109 in an underground car park and 83 above-ground parking spaces. The total living space of the project will be around 21,800 square meters and can accommodate around 900 people.

The DBA enjoys a solid reputation in Rhineland-Palatinate, with numerous successfully implemented projects in cities such as Bad Kreuznach, Trier and Montabaur. The work on the beach resort in Frankenthal shows that the company has a good knack for innovative and sustainable construction projects.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the first construction phase, which may take place at the beginning of September, will lay the foundation for a new chapter of modern living in Frankenthal. Future residents can soon look forward to an attractive living environment in an up-and-coming location that has a lot to offer. What else happens next remains exciting!
