Football and handball are perhaps the most popular sports in Cologne, but table tennis also regularly provides exciting events in the city. TTV Otterstadt in particular has fans in high spirits at the moment: the club has reached the top of the table in two leagues this season. A reason for joy that not only delights the players but also the spectators. The athletes' successes are a sign that intensive training and strategic skills go hand in hand.
The second team in particular is currently benefiting from a surprising slip-up by their main rival in the district league, which paves the way for a possible promotion celebration. As the Rhine Palatinate reported, the celebrations are already under discussion. Wolfgang Staffel, who is described as a key player in the success of TTV Otterstadt, has a particularly significant influence on the team's dynamics.
Diverse leagues – an overview
In the 2025/26 season, TTV Otterstadt is not only active in the district league, but also plays an important role in the district league. Playing in several leagues is an exciting challenge for many club members, which gives an insight into the different leagues.
