Last year, over 630,000 people in Germany took part in this important event organized by the organization Let's Do It! Germany e.V. is supported. The aim is to raise awareness of waste issues and the pursuit of a clean environment.
District AdministratorDietmar Seefeldthas called on communities and citizens to get involved in order to set an example for a clean future. The initiatives are once again supported by the district's own company, WertstoffWirtschaft (EWW), which offers free collection and emptying of waste containers for participating communities. This option is also available to companies, clubs, schools and kindergartens, which can hand in their collected waste in neutral bags or have it picked up.
Waste collection campaigns in focus
On the official website www.worldcleanupday.de Anyone interested can receive information about garbage collection campaigns that have already been planned or organize their own initiatives. Thefirst district councilor Georg Kernemphasizes that participation in this campaign is not only a question of cleanliness, but also an opportunity to strengthen the sense of community.
The campaign aims to remove trash from streets, parks, beaches and other public places. The result is not only a clean environment, but also increased environmental awareness. Kern emphasizes that the idea of cleanliness and environmental awareness should be carried beyond September 20th.
Invitation to participate
To take part in the garbage collection campaigns, you must register in advance. Municipalities must register for this by email eww@nospamsuedliche-weinstrasse.de turn around. The EWW also provides the required garbage containers in sizes of 660 and 1100 liters. A one-off delivery fee of 35.40 euros and emptying costs of 32.80 euros (660 liters) and 54.70 euros (1100 liters) apply. Empties always take place on Mondays.
The comprehensive mobilization should aim to ensure that at least 5 percent of the population takes part in World Cleanup Day. This initiative is not only an excellent opportunity to actively shape the environment, but also helps to raise awareness among decision-makers and companies about the urgency of environmental protection. Speyer courier reports that over 2,400 cities and municipalities in Germany are taking part in this important citizens' movement, which extends to more than 190 countries worldwide.
