Things were happy in Dietrichingen last weekend! The village festival took place in mid-summer temperatures and the participants were in good spirits. After last year's rain, the organizers could see smiling faces this time. While the children splashed around in the splashing water of the fountain, the adults enjoyed the shady spots and the benefits of the barbecue to treat themselves to delicious meals.
How Rhine Palatinate reported that preparations were already in full swing on Friday at 5 p.m. Almost 90 helpers pitched in to set up the tents, benches and tables and prepare everything for the barbecue. Things continued smoothly on Saturday morning and the weather held – a truly successful summer festival!
New cuisine, old traditions
The highlight of the festival was without a doubt the new kitchen on Brunnenplatz, which was only completed two weeks ago. The old fixed counter was replaced with a mobile, rollable counter, and the floor shines in new splendor thanks to fresh tiles. These renovations have made the festival even more inviting and made it possible to respond even more flexibly to the needs of the guests.
Another treat was the large selection of delicacies. In particular, the more than 30 cakes and tarts, which were baked primarily by former members of the dissolved Dietrichingen rural women's association, were very popular. The guests appreciated the local delicacies and enjoyed the sweet delicacies - a familiar sight at festivals in the region.
