Learn to swim safely: Free swimming test in the Koi pool!
Next Saturday, June 21st, the Homburg swimming pool “Koi” will be the venue for an important swimming event. The 1926 Homburg swimming club invites children, young people and adults to take their swimming tests. From 11 a.m., participants can put their swimming skills to the test. The seahorse, early and free swimmer swimming badges are on the program. These tests are not only an opportunity to show off your swimming skills, they are also an important step towards greater safety in the water.
Registering for the swimming test is easy: There are no additional fees, you only have to pay the regular entrance fee to the swimming pool. This underlines the club's commitment to making swimming accessible to everyone. Anna Berdel, the first chairwoman of the swimming club, emphasizes: “Swimming safely is the best protection against drowning.” This shows how essential learning swimming skills is, especially for children and young people.
Importance of swimming badges
Swimming badges are crucial for safety in the water and demonstrate the swimmers' skills. According to the DLRG Swimming badges such as the Seahorse or the higher levels of Bronze, Silver and Gold can serve for different age groups. The Seahorse does not serve as proof of safe swimming - people with this badge still require supervision, while the higher awards already attest to safe swimming.
The German Swimming Association (DSV) highlights that these badges are important indicators of swimming skills and contribute to water safety. Achieving these awards not only promotes swimming technique, but also the swimmers' self-confidence and responsibility. Getting used to water early is also crucial for avoiding swimming accidents.
Swimming training and movement promotion
Regular exercise in the water not only strengthens your health, it also improves your physical performance. It is therefore important that children and young people have the opportunity to learn to swim right from the start. The 1926 Homburg swimming club is committed to structured training that promotes long-term fun and success in swimming.
With the swimming test on June 21st in the Homburg swimming pool, the club is not only presenting itself as an organizer, but also as an important educational provider for swimming skills and safety in the water. The opportunity for all swimmers to show their progress and get certified should definitely not be missed.
