Walshauser Kerwe: Torches illuminate the village during the parade!

In Walshausen, the Kerwe parade was celebrated with torches last Friday, which for many villagers is the highlight of this year's Kerwe. Around 80 Walhaus residents gathered at the village community center to properly celebrate this special event. After a five-year break without a Kerwe speech, the 25th edition of the Kerwe shone with festive lights, while the St. Martin's Day parades were underway in the surrounding communities and daycare centers. The atmosphere was one of anticipation and community spirit that could be felt in every corner of the village. The Rhine Palatinate reports that torches replaced the traditional St. Martin's lanterns, which gave the parade a very special magic.

But that's not all that Walshausen has to offer. On Saturday evening a Malle warm-up with the band “Short Way” took place in the village community center. The live music created a cheerful atmosphere and prepared the villagers for the upcoming celebrations. Another highlight awaited on Sunday when solo entertainer Dieter invited people to the Kerwe celebrations. The village community could look forward to an entertaining weekend with a colorful program.

Special highlights of the Kerwe

It continues on Monday, November 10th! The community invites you to a Bavarian morning pint with live music from 10 a.m., which is perfect for all early risers who want to enjoy the festive atmosphere in the morning. From 12 p.m. a tasty slaughter buffet is offered that leaves nothing to be desired. Afternoon coffee and cake are also provided, so no one has to go home hungry.

These festivities contrast with the traditional St. Martin's parades that take place in other cities such as St. Wendel and the surrounding area. Here they rely on the glowing lanterns and the celebrations are well organized. The fact that the Kerwe parade is celebrated in its special form shows how lively and committed the community is. A big congratulations to everyone who contributed to this successful festival!
