Zweibrücker Hornets celebrate grandiose season start with a double victory!

With two impressive victories, the EHC Zweibrücken started the new season of the Baden-Württemberg league celebrated. Under the direction of coach Ralf Wolf, the team opened the double match day on Saturday with an away win against Schwenninger ERC 1b.

The first game took place in the Schwenninger Helios Arena in front of around 180 spectators. However, the game did not start optimally for the Zweibrücker, who fell behind in the 7th minute with a goal from Pascal Pinsack. Otze restored the old gap before Kirill Kostenk again shortened to 3: 4. In the final minutes, Simon Klemmer and Jacob Ratcliffe defined the final 6: 3 victory in the empty goal, reports the Rhine Palatinate.

Home win against Pforzheim

The second game of the weekend followed on Sunday and the EHC competed in the local ICE arena against CFR Pforzheim. In front of around 600 enthusiastic fans, the group around assistant coach Lukas Srnka achieved a real torrent-in the second third, the Zweibrücker netted impressive eight times and thus clearly won 11: 4. Simon Klemmer demonstrated his skills with three goals, while Fabian Fellhauer and Adam Spurny each networked twice. Marcel Ehrhardt, Alex Kotsek, Leon Kremer and Marco Trenholm also contributed to the high victory.

When asked in the first two games, coach Ralf Wolf replied: "The boys presented themselves excellently. We are ready for the challenges of the season." You could use this positive energy well, because the main round of the Baden-Württemberg League, the highest ice hockey league organized by the Baden-Württemberg ice sports association, runs until February 8, 2026 and promises exciting encounters. Saarbrücker Zeitung Writes that the league is considered the fourth highest division in German ice hockey.
