EHC Zweibrücken is off to a successful start in the Baden-Württemberg League with two wins at the start of the season against Schwenningen and Pforzheim.

EHC Zweibrücken started the new season with two impressive victories last weekend Baden-Württemberg League celebrated. Under the leadership of coach Ralf Wolf, the team opened the double match day on Saturday with an away win against Schwenninger ERC 1b.
The first game took place in the Schwenningen Helios Arena in front of around 180 spectators. However, the game didn't start well for the Zweibrücken team, who fell behind in the 7th minute thanks to a goal from Pascal Pinsack. But the Hornets didn't let themselves be defeated: Danil Bihn and Michael Outzen turned the game around shortly before the first third and sent a clear signal. They also remained strong in the middle third, Jacob Ratcliffe increased the score to 3:1, before the Fire Wings were able to reduce the score to 3:2 through Maximilian Eichhorn. Outzen restored the old gap before Kirill Kostenok reduced it again to 3:4. In the final minutes, Simon Klemmer and Jacob Ratcliffe secured the final 6-3 victory in the empty goal, reports the Rhine Palatinate.
Home win against Pforzheim
The second game of the weekend followed on Sunday and the EHC played against 1. CfR Pforzheim in the home ice arena. In front of around 600 enthusiastic fans, the team led by assistant coach Lukas Srnka managed a veritable shower of goals - in the second third, the Zweibrücken team scored an impressive eight times and thus clearly won 11:4. Simon Klemmer demonstrated his skills with three goals, while Fabian Fellhauer and Adam Spurny each scored twice. Marcel Ehrhardt, Alex Kotasek, Leon Kremer and Marco Trenholm also contributed to the big win.
When asked about the performance in the first two games, coach Ralf Wolf replied: "The boys presented themselves excellently. We are ready for the challenges of the season." They could really use this positive energy, because the main round of the Baden-Württemberg League, the highest ice hockey league organized by the Baden-Württemberg Ice Sports Association, runs until February 8, 2026 and promises exciting encounters. Saarbrücken newspaper writes that the league is considered the fourth highest division in German ice hockey.
Outlook for the season
More exciting encounters await EHC Zweibrücken in the coming weeks. The next games are against EKU Mannheim (October 12th), SC Bietigheim-Bissingen (October 19th) and TSG Reutlingen (October 24th). The Hornets are optimistic that with this performance they can build on their recent successes. Fans can look forward to an exciting and successful half-season!
