Trier Gladiators support new children's hospice - charity game day is approaching!

The Trier Gladiators are pleased to announce their upcoming charity game day. On Sunday, November 2nd, the team will compete against Rasta Vechta from 3 p.m. in order to draw attention to the important project of the new children's hospice on Petrisberg. In the last few weeks, players Maik Zirbes and Urald King have visited the hospice construction site and are impressed by the importance of this facility for the region. People's friend reports that the hospice wants to offer families a place to retreat to during difficult times.

Zirbes and King were on site in full work gear with protective helmets and high-visibility vests and were able to get an idea of the progress. King emphasized that he was not aware of such a project in the USA and thereby emphasized the uniqueness and value of the children's hospice. Zirbes reiterated the importance of social cohesion, which goes beyond basketball, and called on everyone to support this noble cause.

A sign of support

During the visit, the two players left behind a signed team photo that was placed in a time capsule. This capsule will later be placed under a glass plate in the floor of the hospice and is intended to commemorate all the project's supporters. The children's hospice, which was initiated by the Rehkids Foundation, will not only be an important contact point for affected families, but also a sign of community and solidarity in Trier.

The children's hospice is equipped and operated by Nestwärme e.V., which has been involved in a long-term partnership with Trierischer Volksfreund since the end of 2022 to support construction and operation. Nest warmth reports on a variety of participation activities designed to inform and involve the public. Editor-in-chief Thomas Roth highlighted the importance of this project for the region and can point to a number of upcoming charity events.

A good day for the community

On Sunday there will be numerous highlights in the SWT Arena as part of the charity match day. At the Nestwärme association's information stands, visitors can obtain information about the association's work and the goals of the new children's hospice. However, financial support is urgently needed; Donations can be made using a special account number at Trierischer Volksfreund. Companies with donations of 5,000 euros or more can also expect certificates and donation seals to communicate their support.

With several events over the coming weeks, it's a real push for everyone to volunteer or actively donate. The Martinusmarkt will take place in Schweich on November 9th, followed by an encouraging crochet event and a benefit concert in the Heiligkreuz parish church on November 20th. It is clear that sticking together in Trier means working together for a better future.
