Sunny summer festival at the University of Trier: A festival for everyone!

On Thursday, July 10, 2025, the eagerly awaited summer festival took place at the University of Trier. In brilliant weather, students, employees and guests gathered on campus to celebrate under the motto “Together we are the university”. How Lokalo.de reported that the atmosphere was characterized by a good mood and lots of sunshine, which made the festival a complete success.

The event started at 4 p.m. and featured a colorful program. The highlights included the presentation of the “Les Mills Body Pump Program” and a concert by SwingUniT. At 5 p.m., President Eva Martha Eckkrammer and the AStA opened the “Staff Club,” followed by live music from 7:30 p.m. The stage was used by up-and-coming bands until 11 p.m., while the after-show party in the basement of the cafeteria continued until the early hours of the morning.

Diverse stands and culinary delicacies

Another highlight were the numerous stands set up by various student councils and organizations. The WiSo Association, the company health management and the Green Office offered a variety of activities and information. The psychology department was particularly creative with a human gambling machine, where participants competed to win three identical fruits. Unfortunately, there was no big win, but a fruit bar as a consolation prize brought a smile.

The culinary delights were also taken care of. The Japanese studies department brought Japanese trends with them, while the Green Office offered the opportunity to “fish for plastic”. Guests could also look forward to cocktails from a sky bar and take part in sporting competitions such as beer pong or the beerathlon. Luxembourg specialties rounded off the offering, which had something to offer for every palate.

A celebration for the whole family

The summer festival was aimed not only at students and employees, but also at families and children. An attraction for the little ones was the newly opened playground, which brought a lot of joy to the guests. It also became clear that the festival has grown compared to the previous year and received positive feedback. The committed students contributed significantly to the success of the event, and there are already plans to make the summer festival even larger next year in order to reach even more people.

A big plus point of the event was the variety of offerings, which enabled participants to network and celebrate together. With this event, the University of Trier has once again presented itself as a lively and innovative university location, which strengthens community and exchange among one another.
