The anticipation for the 78th Little League World Series is huge! Starting Wednesday, South Williamsport will be the scene of a colorful gummy worm-themed celebration. This year's motto promises not only colorful uniforms, but also a variety of activities for young and old. Players can look forward to multi-colored bats, gloves and shoes that appeal to the emotional nerves of participants and spectators. These tasty influences are a nod to the gummy worms that have been produced by the German company Trolli since 1981 and are now part of baseball tradition.
As pennlive.com reports, this year's theme wasn't just a spontaneous idea. The 20 teams that took part last year had a significant influence on the selection of the topic. Adidas was actively involved in the development process by setting up a board of design ideas to collect players' opinions. The feedback formed the basis for creative designs realized by a group of leading sports equipment manufacturers such as New Era, Rawlings and Easton.
Events and attractions
Besides baseball, there's a lot more to experience during the World Series. The Fan Zone returns and offers visitors the opportunity to take part in exciting meet-and-greets, giveaways and numerous family-friendly activities. The event, which runs alongside the Little League Baseball® World Series in August, is supported by a number of official sponsors. littleleague.org highlights that there will be daily promotions and the popular birthday party with the Dugout mascot.
Visitors are encouraged to register in advance via the LLWS app to use their Fan Pass and collect points. For 500 points you can jump into the lottery pot every day for attractive prizes, which increases the excitement even further! A special highlight: The first 3,500 fans per day can look forward to a flashing pin at the Fan Zone booth.
Family Fun Zone and Schedule
The Family Fun Zone program is also diverse and offers everything your heart desires, from pin giveaways to activities created by sponsors. The activities are designed to cover the entire period of the event. Here's a little insight into what's to come:
