City championship in Zweibrücken: A football festival awaits us!

In January there will be another fight for the title at the indoor city championship in Zweibrücken. TSG Mittelbach-Hengstbach is organizing the tournament, which will take place on January 2nd and 3rd. Last year the title fight was held on January 10th and 11th, but there are some exciting changes for the upcoming edition. Ten teams are taking part this year, one more than last year. The game gets down to business in two groups of five, with the preliminary round games lasting 12 minutes each.

The defending champions TSC Zweibrücken go into the tournament with the aim of winning the title for the sixth time in a row. The draw made for exciting groups:

The group division

  • Gruppe A: SV Ixheim I, SVN Zweibrücken II, TSC Zweibrücken II, TuS Rimschweiler/VB Zweibrücken II, TuS Wattweiler.
  • Gruppe B: TuS Rimschweiler/VB Zweibrücken I, SVN Zweibrücken I, TSC Zweibrücken I, SV Ixheim II, TSG Mittelbach-Hengstbach.

The placement games are held 2 x 5 minutes each. The semi-finals then last 2 x 7 minutes, while the final lasts 2 x 10 minutes. Viewers can hope for exciting duels and gripping scenes.

The 43rd Zweibrücken Indoor City Championships took place last weekend, and the results are impressive! TSC Zweibrücken I beat TuS Rimschweiler/VB Zweibrücken I 5-2 in the final and thus defended its title.

Dominik Stegner from TuS Rimschweiler/VB Zweibrücken I shone and was named the tournament's most successful goalscorer with a total of nine goals. Lukas Schmidt from TSC Zweibrücken I received the award for best goalkeeper, while TSG Mittelbach-Hengstbach received the title of fairest team. A great tournament in Zweibrücken that leaves you wanting more!
