Unknown man exposes himself in front of children in the Homburg outdoor pool!
A disturbing incident caused horror in the Homburg Koi outdoor pool on Saturday afternoon. A 50-year-old man exposed his penis in front of three children aged 9 and 10. [Rheinpfalz]. Shocked, the children immediately reported the incident to a supervisor, whereupon the man disappeared from the premises.
The description of the perpetrator is alarming, to say the least. He is around 1.75 meters tall, has a slim build and is described as having an “Eastern European phenotype”. Rumors say that he probably spoke Russian and had thinning hair and a half-bald head. When he was last seen, he was wearing blue swimming trunks and may have had a sunburn or a rash on his neck. The police have now started a search for witnesses and are asking for relevant information on 06841 1060. According to a police spokesman, such "isolated" incidents occur again and again, but there are no signs of an increase of this type.
Similar incidents and sad reality
Another incident in Homburg is cause for concern. On the night of February 26th to 27th, 2024, a 26-year-old woman was the victim of a similar attack. The unknown perpetrator, a man between the ages of 25 and 35, also pulled down his pants on the street and exposed himself. Press portal reports that the perpetrator followed the woman to a nearby bar, which makes securing eyewitnesses all the more urgent. This once again makes it clear that such harassment can occur in different age groups and under different circumstances.
These incidents are part of a worrying increasing trend in sexual crimes in Germany. According to Statista, a peak of around 128,000 registered sexual offenses was reached in 2024. Young women between the ages of 14 and 20 are particularly at risk. The number of unreported cases could be even higher, as many victims hesitate to report their experiences for fear of being blamed. Around 91 percent of sexual crime victims are women, and a shocking 74 percent of child sexual abuse victims are girls.
But what is crucial? In addition to police measures, it is a task for society as a whole to question and finally combat the deeper problems and thought patterns. It is not enough to complain about the same incidents over and over again - we must take action and ensure a safe environment in which children and women feel valued and protected.
