24 young nurses celebrate their graduation - 14 remain loyal to the AWO!
AWO Saarland recently celebrated the successful completion of its newest training class. In the festive setting of the Saarland Chamber of Crafts, 24 young people successfully completed their training as nursing specialists. Of these graduates, 18 managed to pass the exam, which corresponds to a remarkable success rate of 75 percent. AWO state manager Andreas Jodko praised the graduates' achievements and highlighted the special challenges of generalist training, which focuses not only on care but also on people's dignity. This means that these participants are ideally prepared for the diverse requirements in care, which are in demand more than ever.
Of the 18 qualified nursing staff, 14 continued their path at AWO and now work in the wards where they were able to gain practical experience during their training. Many of them find great joy and fulfillment in their work, which is also reflected in the trainees' reports of their experiences: Young people like 23-year-old Bashir Rahimi from Afghanistan and 43-year-old Sandra, a mother of three children, have found their passion in nursing and enthusiastically report on their experiences. AWO Saarland's offering includes not only training to become a nursing specialist, but also careers in social work such as educators and curative education nurses.
Training at AWO: Opportunities for everyone
The AWO Academy Saar offers a comprehensive training platform that relies on modern teaching methods and individual support. As the AWO Academy Saar reports, the focus is on general training to become a nursing specialist. This not only provides in-depth knowledge, but also practical skills in order to be able to offer high-quality care to people of all ages. The training consists of a mix of theoretical lessons and practical placements in various care facilities, including hospitals and outpatient services.
The training allowance is attractive and includes surcharges for Sundays and public holidays as well as a special annual payment. Chances of being hired are high after successful completion of training. With a collective agreement, additional benefits and offers for further training, AWO Saarland is one of the largest employers in the region and offers motivated young people numerous prospects for their future.
A strong network
AWO Saarland attaches great importance to ensuring that its trainees receive practical support. The young talents are supported by personal contacts and experienced practical instructors. “We want our trainees to feel comfortable with us and to be able to develop individually,” says Jodko, describing the philosophy of the AWO.
In a world in which skilled workers in the field of nursing and social work are increasingly in demand, the AWO's commitment is a strong signal for the region. The offer is rounded off by internships, which enable future specialists to explore different professional fields and thus get a broad overview of the opportunities in social work.
The AWO Saarland therefore remains not only a place for training, but also for personal growth and a fulfilling professional future.
