Last chance: Cone The Weird's spectacular exhibition ends today!

Today, June 29, 2025, an exciting era in Saarland comes to an end. The impressive exhibition of the graffiti artist Cone The Weird in the Laboratorium - Institute for Contemporary Art in Saarlouis is closing its doors. The show by the talented Munich native, known as Colin Kaesekamp, presents a whopping 56 works that offer a comprehensive insight into his creative period from 2017 to 2025, many of which are being seen publicly for the first time. The artworks, which range from graffiti to drawings to prints, showcase the masterful skills of Cone The Weirds, who is considered one of the leading minds in the field of urban and graphic art.

Particularly worth mentioning are the newer graphics, which use a sampling process that is heavily inspired by hip-hop music. As part of the finissage, which begins today at 3 p.m., not only will the special T-shirt edition be presented, which takes up the motif of the invitation, but a DJ will also provide the appropriate musical background. Visitors can pre-order the T-shirts and pick them up before the exhibition closes. Another highlight is the last tour of the exhibition at 5 p.m., which offers everyone interested in art the opportunity to experience the works up close again.

Be creative with Cone The Weird

But Cone The Weird doesn't just attract people to the exhibition, he also brings a breath of fresh air to the art scene as a workshop leader. On Saturday, July 5th, a graffiti workshop will take place in cooperation with GLOBUS Saarlouis and the YOU-The Youth Office of the European City of Saarlouis. From 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., all children and young people aged 14 and over are invited to gain personal experience with the artist in the area of spray techniques and motif development. Cone The Weird gives tips and demonstrates techniques that reflect his years of experience.

Part of the old parking deck, which will soon be demolished, will be made available for creative minds. The transience of graffiti makes this workshop a special experience that the participants will not soon forget. Registration for the workshop takes place via the YOU-The Youth Office, either by phone, WhatsApp or email. Materials for the workshop are provided free of charge, so everyone can participate without worrying about costs.

Public art and insights into Cone The Weird's career

Cone The Weird has realized numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout his career and has made a name for himself with public works of art in both Europe and the USA. He also accepted a visiting professorship at the Saar University of Fine Arts, which he held from 2022 to 2024. One of his notable works was a wall painting in Saarbrücken in 2017, followed by graffiti on transformer houses in Saarlouis, which he designed in collaboration with Stadtwerke and the comic artist Jonathan Kunz.

The exhibition at the Institute for Contemporary Art in Saarlouis and the upcoming workshop are not only a tribute to creativity, but also an invitation to everyone interested in art to actively participate in the lively culture of graffiti. Until the exhibition finally closes today, the question remains: Who will get the last t-shirt and experience the unique works of Cone The Weird?
