Borussia U23: Training camp strengthens team spirit for an exciting season

The summer break is over and the teams from the region are preparing at full speed for the coming season. Borussia Neunkirchen U23 can already look back on an intensive training camp at Bostalsee, which has proven to be a real benchmark for the team. The week started promisingly with an impressive 6-1 win for the first team against SVGG Hangard. This motivation runs through the entire team, said coach Daniel Rodenbusch, who praised the progress and the strengthened team spirit. A real boost that will hopefully accompany the coming season in the district league A.

As part of the training camp, several training sessions were held, which included both athletic training under the guidance of Marc Besch and specific goalkeeper training with the experienced Marc Birkenbach, who has over 300 professional games under his belt. An additional highlight from this training week was a test match against SG Neunkirchen-Seelbach II, which ended with a clear 3-0 win. Jan Schwindling (17th), Dennis Pick (82nd) ​​and an own goal from Simon Stegmair contributed the goals.

Preparatory games are coming up

Borussia Neunkirchen's U23 team remains active. After the impressive training camps, there are now two more preparatory games on the program, which are attracting great interest in the region. On Wednesday there will be a test against FSV Saarwellingen at 7:00 p.m., followed by a clash with DJK Püttlingen on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. The start of the season in the district league A is on August 3rd when we face TuS Wiebelskirchen II. The anticipation of this sporting challenge is increasing.

But Borussia is not the only football highlight in the region. An exciting derby between SG Neunkirchen/Nahe-Selbach and SG Bostalsee took place on September 24, 2023, which around 500 spectators didn't want to miss. Neunkirchen/Nahe-Selbach was able to win 2-1 in the end. In this brilliant game, Christopher Knapp scored the opening goal for the hosts in the 9th minute. Although SG Bostalsee applied more pressure in the first half, they were unable to create clear scoring chances.

Emotional derby moments

As the game continued, Idris Lataev equalized with a penalty in the 80th minute. But the celebration was only short-lived, as Noah Hannebauer restored the old gap with his goal in the 85th minute. The Bostalsee team tried everything in the final phase to equalize, but had to admit defeat. A hard-fought and exciting derby that impressively underlined the rivalry between the teams.
