Kunstherz in Saarbrücken: Fresh cuisine and coffee enjoyment redefined!
In the heart of Saarbrücken, the “Kunstherz” café has received a breath of fresh air under new management. Joshua Petry (28) and Justin Hasmann (26) recently took over the popular café from Oliver Häfele and focus on homemade food. Guests can look forward to delicacies such as banana bread, hummus, date curry dip and watermelon feta salad. The two operators are not indecisive in the slightest when it comes to healthy cuisine. They emphasize that they like to eat a balanced diet and bring in their experience from various areas of gastronomy.
While Petry can look back on ten years of gastronomy experience, most recently at Café Batela, Hasmann brings a completely different perspective, as he is active as a professional referee. Petry, a certified barista, has particularly big plans for coffee culture in the “Kunstherz”. The current Special Coffee concept, which includes Doppio and Flat White, is still in the testing phase, but the team is confident of establishing the cafe as a hotspot for coffee lovers soon.
Inviting atmosphere and diverse offerings
The interior design has been slightly adjusted to promote the cozy atmosphere. The newly arranged couch landscapes and the pretty straw flower arrangements ensure that everyone feels right at home. The café can accommodate 40 to 50 guests and is air-conditioned - a real advantage in the warm summer months.
The drinks menu, which also includes delicacies from the Saarbrücken “Winefactory”, is highly valued by visitors. The “artificial heart” already has a Google rating of 4.2 and that speaks for itself. “It's a pleasure to work here and our team is committed,” emphasize the two operators. In order to offer their guests the best service, Petry and Hasmann have hired four temporary workers.
Opening hours and pricing
The opening times are friendly: the café is open at different times from Tuesday to Sunday, with Mondays being a day off. Prices are pleasant, between €1 and €10 per person, which makes the café attractive to many.
- Dienstag: 11:30 – 18:30
- Mittwoch: 10:00 – 19:00
- Donnerstag bis Samstag: 10:00 – 18:30
- Sonntag: 10:00 – 18:30
- Montag: Geschlossen
Home-based catering has established itself as an important economic factor in Germany, with almost 56 percent of sales revenue coming from the catering industry. The new operators of the “Kunstherz” also want to take advantage of this positive trend. Eating out is no longer just a basic need, but has developed into a popular leisure activity that many Saarbrücken residents and their guests enjoy.
The latest developments in the “artificial heart” are good to watch, because the catering industry is a fast-moving business. The operators are aware that a good sense of trends is required in this industry. More and more people are attaching importance to healthy diets and increased awareness of sustainability, which is also evident in the café's offerings.
The operators are currently in the soft opening phase, so there may be longer waiting times - after all, the food is freshly prepared. But it will be worth it for the “artificial heart” because the team has big plans and visitors can soon look forward to more delicacies and innovative offers.
