New President Bottle is planning a grandiose benefit – Lions rocks Vauban!

On July 1st, the Saarlouis Lions Club has a new president: Tim Bottle, vice president of the Saarbrücken Regional Court. Bottle, who wants to take up the legacy of his predecessor Stefan Bost, has already announced some exciting plans. One of the main goals of his term is the upcoming “Lions rocks Vauban” charity concert, scheduled for September 13, 2025, to raise 25,000 euros for regional children and youth projects. Supporting such socially unifying projects is particularly important to Bottle, as he emphasized. Weekly Mirror Online reports that...

Previous successes under the direction of Bost include the open-air concert “Lions rocks Vauban – Benefit for Kids”, which in September 2024 already raised 25,000 euros for children and youth projects. Campaigns such as food donations for the food bank and the care of the dementia garden in Schwalbach were also very well received. The Saarlouis District Youth Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Joachim Fontaine, provided the musical backdrop for the handover and will continue to take part in Lions Club events in the future. Saarnews highlights that...

Charity event being planned

The benefit concert on September 21, 2025 will take place in the picturesque Ravelin of the old fortress in Saarlouis. A clear focus here is on promoting regional children and youth projects. The event will be artistically framed by numerous bands, including the tribute band Reggatta de Blanc, which will perform the hits of Sting and The Police. The cover band 2 Without from Saarwellingen ensures a rocking conclusion. As Lions Clubs International explains...

Every ticket sold for the concert directly supports charitable projects. Last year, around 28,000 euros were raised through this event, of which 15,000 euros came from the concert in 2023 alone. The donations go to organizations such as Aktion Herzenssache and Kinderhilfe Saar e.V., which take care of the needs of children and young people locally.

The Lions members are working hard to make the event a success and also to steer the next big event, the “Lions Rocks Vauban – Benefit for Kids”, in the right direction. Tickets are already available via ticket-regional.de and at the box office.

Community engagement

The Lions Club has also taken on the task of providing drinks at the Lebenshilfe summer festival and is planning to take part in the integrative run and sports festival on September 20th. Tim Bottle has also promised to initiate new projects, such as supporting the children's and youth farm by building a new wooden hut and providing 3,000 euros to furnish the Caritas "Oase" emergency sleeping area. The Lions' continued support is a significant asset in the local community.

With a clear focus on social responsibility and cohesion, the Saarlouis Lions Club not only helps those in need in the region, but also promotes a deep sense of community. Lions Clubs International has been serving people in need for over 100 years and is proud to be part of this global family.
