On the last weekend in April, a very special charity event organized by the “Saar-Pfalz-Stromer” biker community took place in Zweibrücken. Under the motto “We donate for the benefit of disadvantaged children,” bikers of different age groups and with different motorcycle models came together to motor for a good cause. This event has been an integral part of local commitment since 2014 and has established itself as one of the largest charity events in West Palatinate and is enjoying growing popularity and response, although a construction site on Schlachthofstrasse made access somewhat difficult. The hard-working helpers who worked in the background together with 45 volunteers can be proud of the end result: an impressive net proceeds of 10,500 euros. This sum was divided between various organizations that support children in need. The Blieskastel Guardian Angel Association, which benefits greatly from the commitment of the biker community, received 1,000 euros, while the Zweibrücken Child Protection Association was supported with 4,000 euros. Social responsibility in the region
The commitment of “Saar-Pfalz-Stromer” to social projects shows how important it is to stand up for the weakest in our society. The “Biker Show Heart for Children” association, which consists of bikers from Dessau-Roßlau and the surrounding area, pursues similar goals and regularly organizes fundraising events. Her focus is on animal-assisted therapies for sick children, which are implemented in cooperation with the outpatient children and youth hospice service “Lila Wolke” and the Diakonisches Werk. These unique therapies offer children a valuable opportunity to interact with animals and thereby experience positive effects.
