Anniversary in the city park: Homburg celebrates 25 years of family celebrations!

The countdown is running! On Sunday, June 29, 2025, Homburg City Park will be transformed into a real mainland full of experiences. Anke Michalsky, the main organizer, speaks of a special day because the city is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the family and children's festival. In dry and hot weather conditions, she recommends that all visitors drink enough, as there are numerous stands offering drinks with fair and family-friendly prices.

What's on the program? From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., guests can look forward to a diverse range of hands-on activities, stage performances and culinary highlights. The city administration is calling on clubs and non-profit organizations to take an active part. They can not only implement their creative ideas, but also bring in their catering stand offers. The registration deadline for interested groups is April 11, 2025.

Participation offers for everyone

A great feature is the opportunity to take advantage of free participation offers or to offer stage performances yourself. This is not only an excellent opportunity for groups to make themselves and their work known, but also to attract new members. In addition, the mouse from the “Sendung mit der Maus” will be present throughout the day and will delight the children.

An essential part of this festival is the commitment to sustainability. Homburg has the title of “certified Fairtrade city”. This means that stand operators are asked to offer fair trade coffee as well as other fair trade products such as tea and cocoa. Commercial providers are not permitted in order to maintain the familiar and fair atmosphere.

The aim of the family and children's festival is clear: families should spend a relaxing day without the stress of costs. To ensure that everything runs smoothly, there is a municipal utility drinking water bar available in the city park. In addition, the entire organization is aimed at creating both entertainment and a great atmosphere for young and old.
