In a thrilling competition at the South German Championships in St. Wendel, Saarland, 16-year-old Julius Feuerfeil from Gerlingen won the bronze medal over 3,000 meters in the U18 class with an impressive time of 8:49.11 minutes. In doing so, he not only secured a place on the winner's podium, but also a record for the fastest time by a Gerlingen runner in this discipline. What is particularly noteworthy is that his performance also reached the top ten in Germany, which is promising for his future sporting career.

The competition itself was characterized by high intensity. At the beginning one athlete took the lead, but Julius and his chasing group did not let this deter them. In the second half of the race, the group increased the pace and was finally able to catch up with the leader.
