District assembly in Rendsburg: Honors and important topics 2025!
On October 28, 2025, the 14th annual meeting of the retirement district of the Schleswig-Holstein regional association took place in Rendsburg am Kanal, which brought together numerous members and guests. A highlight of the evening was the welcoming of new members, including Jens Puls, a former detective who was recently added to the ranks of active members. In a moving minute of silence, those present remembered the members who died last year, Kay Hand and Joachim Giesenberg.
Personal conversations over coffee and cake promoted togetherness and ensured the exchange of memories of the deceased. Felix Friese, who brought greetings from the state executive board, addressed current topics such as specialist careers in combating crime and the challenges of digitalization. A central point of the discussions was the ongoing problem of appropriate alimony, which fuels strong mistrust among civil servants.
Important topics and challenges
During the meeting, topics from the last twelve months were discussed, including participation in board meetings and federal meetings as well as the rattling tone conversation. The current criticism of the state parliament's budget planning for 2025, which envisages worrying cuts in aid and the pension fund for civil servants, was met with great incomprehension. In addition, the DBB Schleswig-Holstein has filed an action for delay in order to receive an answer from the Federal Constitutional Court to their inquiries.
Active support is planned for ongoing claims in 2024, for which sample justifications and application forms have already been created. With a total of 125 members, the district is the strongest association within Schleswig-Holstein and thus shows the ongoing strength and solidarity in difficult times.
Honors and fellowship
Another highlight of the evening was the honors for long-standing members. Sönke Paulsen was honored for 40 years of membership and Eckhard Jansen for an impressive 50 years of membership. These recognitions demonstrate members' loyalty and commitment to the organization.
The meeting ended in the evening with social discussions and a group photo by the canal, which reflected the positive mood of the event. In this way, a piece of Cologne tradition was kept alive - after all, exchanging ideas with one another is part of the DNA of the community.
At a time when digital transitions are also becoming more of a focus, approaches such as Microsoft 365 Copilot app, which offers AI-powered productivity features in applications like Word and Excel, is an interesting development. This shows how important it is to remain active in digitalization. How much these tools will shape the working environment in the long term remains to be seen.
A look at the technical world is also open to us: the conversion of binary numbers into readable text, like it rapidtables describes, could bring a breath of fresh air to various areas and improve the understanding of digital data.
Overall, the annual meeting not only highlighted the topics and challenges of the last few months, but also initiated barrier-free access to further developments. The sense of community in Rendsburg remains strong and we are looking positively into the future.
