Kopljar is no stranger to the handball field. With an impressive height of 2.10 meters, the Croatian has not only played for the Füchse Berlin, but also for internationally renowned clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona. His new role alongside Emir Kurtagic promises an interesting collaboration, which could also be of a sporting nature, as Kopljar brings many years of experience with him.
A varied career
The Požegan native has achieved a lot over the course of his career. In 2012 he was part of the Croatian national team that won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in London. In recent years, Kopljar has set another high point with SG Flensburg-Handewitt when he won the EHF European League in May 2025. His return to the parquet in March 2025 and the subsequent withdrawal from his active career also show that he is still deeply connected to handball.
Sports director Bob Hanning spoke when Kopljar's signing was announced and emphasized that sometimes you have to be patient in order to attract the best talent. This “good hand” could prove to be the right thing for Potsdam.

His successes speak for themselves: Kopljar scored an impressive 319 goals in a total of 152 international matches for Croatia. He has also made a name for himself at international competitions.
