Appropriately, an upscale round table took place today in the summer garden of the Atlantic Grand Hotel, where festival director Hans-Wilhelm Hagen, hotel director Kay Plesse, artistic director Pierre Bertrand and consul Bernd Jorkisch got in the mood for the upcoming festivities.

The event served as preparation for the festival, whose motto is “On course for Ghana”. The combination of West African musical traditions with European sounds is celebrated here, and features both international stars and emerging talents. Particularly exciting: There is a benefit concert in which Alain Brunet's work “Migration 2” will be performed in the ballroom of the Atlantic Grand Hotel.

The festival's program highlights are already promising:

  • Eröffnungskonzert mit Florence Adooni am 17. Juli, 19:30 Uhr – ein Erlebnis im Garten des Hotels mit Frafra-Gospel, Highlife und Afro-Jazz.
  • „Migration 2“ – Deutschlandpremiere am 21. Juli um 20:00 Uhr – eine Aufführung im Rahmen eines Benefizkonzerts, bei dem Spenden für die Tafelstiftung gesammelt werden.

A festival full of diversity

It is widely known that festivals in Germany have a long tradition and always offer exciting experiences. Events such as the Mozart Festival in Würzburg or the Handel Festival in Halle attract numerous music lovers every year. The Classical Beat Festival also joins this ranks by focusing on the cultural connection between Europe and Africa. This means it is not only a treat for the ears, but also an enrichment for Brandenburg's cultural landscape.

The weather could be a bit of a downer because if it rains at one of the concerts, the event will be moved to the ballroom. But the anticipation remains unbroken, and if you don't want to miss the extraordinary festival, you should mark the date in red on your calendar.
