After his playing days, he started working with the youth team at St. Pauli and eventually made the leap to head coach of the professional team. After a short and turbulent time at FC Basel and a later stint in Cologne, where he was unable to prevent relegation, Schultz has now accepted the challenge of leading VfL Osnabrück back into better waters.

“I have no intention of just managing the 3rd league,” Schultz made it clear. He is determined to strive for a quiet but ambitious development with his new team and will do everything in his power to delight the Osnabrück fans with passionate football.
