Colorful woodcut art in Preetz: exhibition enchants visitors!

There is currently a colorful eye-catcher for art lovers in Preetz: the woodcut exhibition by the talented artists Gertrud Hinrichsmeyer and Christin Karbaum can be admired in the Kunstkreis Preetz, Gasstraße 5. The show, which is open until June 29, 2025, invites you to marvel from Friday to Sunday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and shows works that delight with lively colors and impressive, figurative motifs.

The artworks reflect a mix of nature, childhood memories and personal experiences. Gertrud Hinrichsmeyer, who studied art at the Special Education Institute in Kiel, often uses the printing process as a creative tool for her works. Her colleague Christin Karbaum, who comes from Switzerland and studied in both Berlin and Basel, depicts “perceived” spaces that take the viewer into her creative world.

Art and joy of life

The art circle opened the exhibition year with a clear focus on the “magic of joy of life”, as Nordic.News reports. This lively atmosphere runs like a common thread through the exhibits and invites you to discover stimulating works of art.

The city of Preetz has also been working on its infrastructure in recent months. The bicycle parking options have been modernized and expanded since autumn 2024. A total of 120 bicycle bars and 8 bars for cargo bikes were installed at various locations, especially at popular playgrounds and leisure locations such as Lake Lanker. The city wants to create a further incentive for cyclists and sustainably promote the cycling infrastructure. Suggestions for additional parking options can be forwarded to mobility management; Esther Wenderhold is available for inquiries on 04342/303219.

Market music and cultural events

Back to art: The city of Preetz also has a lot to offer musically. Free market music takes place in the town church every Saturday from May to the end of August from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., although donations are welcome. A highlight is expected on June 21st, when Leo Berkovsky and Andrej Naumovich Gambenson perform gamba sonatas by J. S. Bach. Such events are a special enrichment and contribute to the lively culture of the place.

The importance of cultural support in Germany is supported by various organizations, including the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe. She has been committed to photography for almost 20 years and has, among other things, built up renowned collections that are exhibited in international museums. This not only promotes local culture, but also enables exchange on an international level, which is good for Preetz and the surrounding area.

So if you want to experience art and more, you have plenty of opportunity to do so in Preetz. When visiting the exhibition, visitors can not only enjoy the artistic diversity, but also use the fresh air and the newly designed bicycle parking facilities to actively explore the city.
