VfB Lübeck celebrates a strong 4-0 win in the friendly against Neumünster!

In front of an impressive crowd of 240 spectators, VfB Lübeck won their friendly match against VfR Neumünster 4-0. The game took place in the Grümmi Arena and once again showed that coach Guerino Capretti's team is on the right track. Lübeck was able to convince in the first meeting between the two teams, as HL-Sports found.

Lübecklos made a quick and determined effort when Dardan Karimani drew the first cheers from the Lübeck fans after a follow-up shot in the 8th minute. Just a few minutes later, Julian Albrecht increased the score to 2-0 in the 40th minute, which further raised the mood in the Lübeck camp. VfB appeared in all green clothing, while the hosts entered the pitch in purple and white.

Dominant second half

As in the first half, Lübeck continued the game in the second half. Dardan Karimani, who had already shown an excellent performance, made it 3-0 in the 56th minute. With a shot that shocked the Neumünster defense, he once again proved his goal threat. In between, however, VfB also had to face resistance from the hosts, who knew how to take advantage of some set-piece opportunities. Phillip Diestel, who was in goal for Lübeck, kept the goal clean while Nemo Philipp failed twice at the post.

Mika Lehnfeld made it 4-0 in the 89th minute after he used a precise pass from Nemo Philipp. According to VfB sports director Sebastian Harms, the game was “good and intense”, which reflects the training effect of the past week. “We played the friendly at a decent level,” he added.

Preparation for the start of the league

For the team from Lübeck, this was the penultimate test match before the start of the regional league. The next training day is scheduled for Tuesday, followed by another test match against Greifswalder FC on Wednesday at 4 p.m. On July 26th, VfB Lübeck will finally start the new regional league season against Bremer SV. The anticipation is great, but those responsible remain realistic: “Financial bottlenecks are currently preventing player transfers,” as an insider revealed and once again clarified the situation in the club.
