Festival spectacle on the southern beach: 20,000 visitors celebrate in Eckernförde!
What a weekend on the south beach in Eckernförde! The music festivals “Eckernförde Ahoi” and “R.SH Pop am Strand” not only bring good music, but also a lot of atmosphere and joy to the region. From Friday to Sunday, around 20,000 visitors came to listen to performances by artists such as Nico Santos, Kelvin Jones and Glockenbach. This musical marathon particularly attracted families and friends from all over the north, who shared unforgettable moments together. KN Online reports about 6,000 guests at the “R.SH Pop am Strand” on Saturday alone.
The party of superlatives took place on Friday, when over 5,000 young people celebrated to the beats of artists such as “Honk!”, “Luxusproblem” and “Andi Schiebt Anders”. Despite the light rain on Saturday, the festival guests did not let their spirits be spoiled and protected themselves with colorful rain capes. “This is the weather at the sea – we won’t let ourselves be stopped!” echoed from the crowd.
Fully staffed and well organized
The organizers came up with a new catering concept that was intended to avoid long waiting times. This ensured that visitors were quickly taken care of while they enjoyed the beach feeling with dancing and partying. A bus shuttle service took guests safely from the parking lot to the festival site, ensuring a relaxed journey. Pop on the beach informed about all the details and ensured that VIP guests were pampered with their own area. Overall, a successful event, even if there were some difficulties with parking signage and finding the entrance.
The security situation remained positive throughout, as both the organizers and the police reported a positive outcome without any notable incidents, apart from a few drunken guests who were quickly brought under control. The voluntary commitment of the DLRG and the Red Cross was an important factor that contributed to the positive atmosphere.
Environmental protection in focus
Another notable aspect of the festival was the theme of environmental protection. Cordoned off beach islands and the presence of experts ensured that the sensitive flora and fauna were protected. A step in the right direction, which was received with gratitude by visitors.
The festival came to its crowning conclusion with Johannes Oerding's concert on Sunday, for which 10,000 additional guests were expected. The anticipation for the next round is already increasing, as the next “Eckernförde Ahoi” is planned for July 4th, 2026, while the Strandgut electro festival is scheduled for July 26th, 2024. The organizers have already looked diligently into the future. Statista shows that music festivals are trendy in Germany and are attracting more and more people.
In short: Eckernförde has once again proven that it has the right knack for creating unforgettable experiences. It will be interesting to see how the next events take off the brakes!
