Bad Segeberg: Stove builder is moving! Indoor flea market on Sunday!
Big things are happening in Bad Segeberg: Adolf Rohlf & Söhne, a traditional stove manufacturer, has been based on Hamburger Straße for over 90 years. Changes are now coming, as company owner Volker Albers and his team are moving to Efeustraße 4. This decision marks a new beginning and a stylish farewell to the old premises, which, according to Albers, have a special place in his heart.
As the ln online reports, this farewell will be celebrated with an indoor flea market that will take place on Sunday, October 5th, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Customers and neighbors are invited to say goodbye and reminisce at a very special celebration. Surprising special prices and a wide range of food and drinks are a must, and the fish girls who will be on site will ensure the atmosphere.
A look back into history
The company was founded in 1931 when the residential and commercial building on Hamburger Straße, which was originally built in 1840, was purchased. Apart from the display of ovens and stoves on the ground floor, the upper floor was rented out. After the Second World War, many refugees moved into the upper rooms, which had a significant impact on the history of the building. Hamburger Straße was rededicated as a pedestrian zone in the 1980s, so that the shop and the hall could only be accessed via Am Landratspark street.
In 1993, Albers took over the business in the third generation, and the company was further developed together with master oven builder Steffen Hildebrandt, who has been ensuring quality in the workshop for three decades. But now the move to Efeustraße 4 is the next step - Albers calls it a "logical step", although it is not easy for him to part with the old location.
New chapter on Ifeustraße
The new showrooms promise a fresh perspective for the company: Efeustraße 4 will offer a modern stage for the traditional tiles and stoves. A large white tiled stove remains on Hamburger Strasse as a souvenir, which has a special symbolic value for many customers.
With the move of the oven makers, a new tenant will also move into Hamburger Strasse: The wine cellar from Kirchstrasse is planning to reopen and will certainly bring a breath of fresh air to the area. While the shop windows on Hamburger Straße have already been taped off and the exhibition space is almost empty, the city and the neighbors can be excited to see what Efeustraße has to offer in the future.
The stories and memories that this traditional company leaves behind can now be taken into the new premises - a beautiful circle full of passion and craftsmanship that should be continued. In Bad Segeberg, the Rohlf stove-making company remains an integral part of the community, while at the same time boldly moving into a new era.
The city has changed and developed significantly over the years and is known for its important role in the history of Schleswig-Holstein. A visit to the local history museum nearby could deepen the understanding of the local history, which reflects Bad Segeberg's history from the medieval castle settlement to the modern health resort.
