Segeberg rowing regatta: sprint action and thrills on the lake!
On September 13, 2025, things will get hot again for rowing enthusiasts at Lake Segeberger. The 36th Segeberg Rowing Regatta promises an exciting event with sprint and slalom races held over a distance of 350 meters. Numerous clubs and individual starters from various federal states and even Denmark have announced their coming. City magazine SH reports that the event starts at 9:00 a.m. with the U23 single sculls and the final race, an eight, will take place around 5:30 p.m.
Preparations for this spectacle have been in full swing since December last year. Regatta director Christoph Bubert and his colleague Robin Horns have taken over the organization and are pleased to be able to present the latest catch to the participants and spectators: five new starting islands. New competitions, such as the slalom race and the masters race for beginners, also provide a breath of fresh air on the water. To make the whole thing even more exciting, the Treuherz Prize was created for the biggest mishap. Any participant can be nominated for this.
Information for participants and spectators
If you still want to get involved, you have until Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. to get in touch. Late registrations are also possible in order to fill any missing departments. Details about the races will be published on the website regatta-segeberg.de, and a live stream will also be available from 8:45 a.m. with a commentator to accompany the exciting duels.
It will be a free pleasure for spectators to watch the races from the promenade. Snacks and drinks are available to make cheering on the athletes even more enjoyable. Whether young or old, there is something for everyone here!
More rowing events
There are already more major events coming up in the following week after the Segeberg rowing regatta. From September 21st to 25th, 2025, the federal final “Youth trains for the Olympics” will take place in Berlin-Grünau, which is considered the largest school sports event in the world. This shows once again how dynamic rowing is in Germany. After the Segeberg successes, the athletes should be very motivated!
The Segeberg rowing regatta not only provides exciting competitions, but also valuable exchanges between rowing enthusiasts. Whether as a participant or spectator, everyone is invited to become part of this great event. You can find more information about the spectacle and future events at RISH as well as the page of School Rowing Association.
