Motorcyclist crashes into car at Baden-Baden and is seriously injured!
Baden-Baden, Deutschland - A serious accident occurred today on the federal road 500, south of Baden-Baden. A 53-year-old motorcyclist hit a car and contracted serious injuries. According to Stuttgarter News had to slow down several passing cars to avoid a collision. A motorcyclist from an oncoming biker group got on the opposite lane during the incident, which also made the situation dangerous.
The 53-year-old could not brake in time and drove directly against the back car. A rescue helicopter brought him to a nearby hospital, where he is now being treated. It was also tragic that the three-member biker group, which had previously noticed because it always drove too quickly on the main road, simply continued after the accident without taking care of the injured, like the Stern reported.
The dangers for motorcyclists
This incident is part of the worrying statistics on motorcycle accidents in Germany. According to an analysis of the ADAC have motorcyclists a four times higher risk of being integrated into an accident than Drivers. In addition, the injured rate for motorcycles is seven times as high. Every year, more than 500 motorcyclists have to live their lives, and almost 10,000 suffer serious injuries. In recent years, the proportion of motorcyclists has risen among the road dead, although the total number of fatal and seriously injured motorcyclists has declined.
Around 20% of the road dead and seriously injured in 2021 were motorcyclists. Sole accidents that make up about a third of cases are particularly risky. Driving errors and excessive speed play a major role here. In view of these figures, it is advisable that motorcyclists not only wear protective clothing, but also regularly take part in driving safety training and have their machines checked.
There are various technical solutions that can contribute to avoiding accident, such as cornering or distance control. Simple measures such as cutting back plants or setting up speed limits can also help increase safety on the streets. Finally, expected driving behavior is one of the best means of avoiding accidents for all road users.
