The 44th Fürstenwaldlauf took place in Ochsenhausen on June 20, 2025. In bright sunshine and temperatures above 25 degrees, numerous running enthusiasts gathered to take part in this popular event. As schwaebische.de reports, the number of participants is constantly increasing, especially in the main run and the five-kilometer run.
The results are promising: Vanessa Frick from Friedrichshafen won the five-kilometer run in 20.23 minutes, placing her in eleventh place overall. The athlete, who competes for VfB Friedrichshafen and trains five times a week, has once again established herself as a serious runner. On the other hand, Simon Nuber from TV Niederwangen won the main run over 10.55 kilometers in an impressive 36.25 minutes. He beat his main competitor Sebastian Kuhn by 21 seconds. Benedikt Rindle followed in third place, over a minute behind.
Performance meets popular sport
What makes the Fürstenwaldlauf special is not only the top performances of the participants, but also the great commitment of the organizing team. At least 35 helpers ensured everything ran smoothly. Markus Baur and Klaus Berger lead the SV Ochsenhausen organizational team and place particular emphasis on promoting popular sports. However, there will be no introduction of a half marathon or marathon next year in order to keep the focus on the already existing competitions.
The route presented the participants with a demanding challenge, in particular the slope on the “Hohen Ridge” with a height difference of 70 meters was crucial for the outcome of the race. “It's not easy, but that's exactly what makes the route exciting,” said Nuber after the run.
Diverse supporting program
The Fürstenwaldlauf not only offers adults a platform; school and children's runs also took place, with the number of participants being comparable to the previous year. Such initiatives not only promote sporting activity, but also community in the region. Participants who wish to register must accept the conditions of participation and, in the case of minors, present a written declaration of consent from a legal guardian, as explained on svochsenhausen.de.
The results of all runs are available at www.svochsenhausen.de/leichtathletik. In addition, data and statistics about running results and trends in Germany can be found on laufmarkt.de, which is a further enrichment for all running enthusiasts.
In summary, it can be said that the 44th Fürstenwaldlauf is not only a sporting highlight, but also a sign of the constantly growing enthusiasm for running in the region. It will be exciting to see how the event will develop in the coming years.
